What to Expect

First Visit

Your first visit to our office is our first opportunity to exceed all of your expectations. You will be greeted enthusiastically by our fantastic front desk chiropractic assistant, Michele. She will take you through the necessary intake work and give you a quick tour of the office (everyone wants to know where the bathroom is).

Your next step is to meet with our doctor, Dr. Seth Richter to begin discussing what your unique health challenges have been and what you want your health future to look like. We will discuss why you are here as well as any other additional details you wish to discuss prior to the examination.

Your exam will begin with one of the doctors. We will take you through the examination process consisting of computerized static electromyography (SEMG), computerized surface infrared thermography, posture analysis, computerized range of motion testing and many other chiropractic tests. We will make sure that you understand everything. Do not hesitate to ask questions, they are expected. One of the major premises of this office is that you are responsible for your own health. After all how can a person make the best decisions for themselves if they do not have all the facts? After the exam, we take the appropriate measurements for x-rays if they are needed. Your doctor will then wrap up the exam, answer any final questions that you may have and outline the second visit,"The Report of Findings" appointment.

Finally, you will speak with Michele to schedule the second appointment with the doctor in order for us to go over the results of your tests. Our experience is that since there is so much new and different information being presented, directly relevant to your care, that you bring your spouse, significant other, or friend with you for your "Report of Findings" appointment. This will benefit you tremendously by having someone there to help you process all of the information.

Your Second Visit

The Report of Findings Your Journey to Better Health resumes upon your second arrival at Northern Community Chiropractic. You will again be enthusiastically greeted by one of our wonderful front desk team members before meeting with your doctor. After having completed the first visit, consisting of consultation, examination and xray (if needed), the doctor has taken the time to thoroughly review your findings and is now prepared to help you participate in your own health. We will discuss the challenges faced by our current "health care" model, how TRUE, GOD-GIVEN HEALTH is achievable by everyone and answer four main questions:

  1. Can we help? Your doctor is highly trained to determine whether or not your condition is one that chiropractic can help. If we can we will tell you that. If not, we will tell you that too. If necessary, we work openly with other healthcare professionals to assure you receive the appropriate care.
  2. What is causing my problem? We will summarize your exam findings, go over your x-rays, explain the computer analysis and explain to you, in words you understand, what we believe to be causing your health condition.
  3. How long will it take? The duration of care depends upon how long your body and nervous system has not been functioning optimally, past injuries (if any), and your health goals. It is truly different for each individual. We will give you estimates based upon other practice members with similar health conditions.
  4. How much will it cost? Each of us has the freedom to place a different value on our health. Ultimately, good health is about personal responsibility. While an insurance company or other third party may be helpful, be careful. Don't allow a profit-motivated company to make decisions about what you do with your health. We will be straight forward with you on the cost of care. Practice members in our clinic are happy to find out that our rates are reasonable and very affordable, whether you have insurance coverage or not (in fact, most of our patients don't have insurance).

Your first adjustment, should you decide to start care, will occur immediately after the results of your examination have been given and financial arrangements have been made. Should you have any additional questions regarding getting adjusted please check out the frequently asked questions page on the website or ask any of our "well-adjusted" team members. We look forward to helping you and your family experience a lifetime full of optimal health and wellbeing!
